The Honda CBR250R National Race Series will host a special guest at this weekend’s second round of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship at Autodrome St-Eustache. Hikari Okubo, the 2012 Asia Dream Cup champion, will take part in the weekend’s CBR250R activities.
Okubo met up with 2012 CBR250R national champion Stacey Nesbitt at the final round of the ADC in Qatar last year and they have kept in touch over the past several months.
Visiting Montreal from Japan for a short vacation was his original plan but that has now evolved into a vacation and a race weekend. Thanks to Powersports Canada in Ottawa, Okubo will ride Nesbitt’s 2012 championship-winning CBR250.
Okubo has had a very full schedule as he just finished competing in the Japan GP3 championship last weekend, so needless to say he will be well practiced for the St-Eustache event. For more info on Hikari, you can follow him at http://www.hikariokubo.com.
This weekend will also mark Nesbitt’s first time entering the Bazzaz / Inside Motorcycles Amateur Sport Bike class aboard her Honda CBR600RR.
This has been made possible through the efforts of Statoni Racing (Grant and Stacey Nesbitt). Additional thanks also go to Forensi-Tech Racing, Powersports Canada, Aria Helmets, Raceline Canada, Arlen Ness, Pro 6 Cycle, R&M Electrical, Lucky Stripe, Club Ouest Gym, VnM Sportgear, Clarence and Cripps, family, friends and supporters.
